Instasnaps #18

I know my blogging has been taking a back seat lately...and I really don't have any excuses for that! Just that I have simply been really busy adjusting to uni life and all that. But I think that I will enjoy Christmas this year and then pursue blogging on a more regular basis next year! So I shall put that down as my New Year resolution :P Anyway, I am still always active on Instagram despite my busy schedule so if you want to keep up with me, Instagram is the way to do it!

#RunningThings with SportsShoes.com

When the temperatures drop to sub 10 degrees and the sun sets around 4pm, it's incredibly hard to gather the motivation to actually do some exercise and keep fit. After all, it's cold, dark and wet...all the more reasons to stay indoors right? I know, that has been my mentality most of the time. But it wasn't until I received some workout gear from SportsShoes.com (thank you so much!) that I thought, 'it's now or never'. Especially as a Uni student, schoolwork can get so hectic that your physical health takes a backseat.
Anyway, I have had a good couple of weeks to truly trial and test these items out in the colder weather and to give an honest opinion on them!

Firstly, how awesome is the colour scheme on these shoes. When it comes to running shoes, I say the brighter the better - just makes everything much more fun. The website states that this only weighs a mere 241 grams, which I can definitely attest to because they are definitely the lightest pair of running shoes that I have ever owned. Of course, this made it incredibly easy to run with - I could barely feel the weight! Also there is just the right amount of cushion inside so your feet doesn't ache after a while. But most importantly, I also like how the grip on the sole is really quite good because that minimizes the risk of slipping, especially when the road can get frequently wet these days.

I'm really glad I picked this up because I was in need of more sports bras! I got this in the size X-Small and on first wear, it was quite snug. But I actually prefer it that way when it comes to sports bras because I feel like you get more support and the elastic will loosen over time anyway. What I like most about this is that it is made out of good, thicker material, unlike some of my previous ones where it's quite thin so that my umm...nipples show through. But, I'm pleased to say that they don't on this one! Also, it's made out of dri-fit fabric which keeps your body dry during an intense workout instead of making it all sweaty and gross. The back also features a racerback design which is my favourite kind

Now this is one of Nike's iconic 'Just Do It' t-shirt that I really wanted to get. Not only are the colours super funky, but the material is also fairly lightweight and breathable. Oh, and did I mention it is made out of dri-fit fabric too? No more super soaking wet t-shirts or sweat stains! I normally wear these for indoor workouts, but it is also good for sports in the summer or just everyday casual wear.

As this is my first time being in such freezing weather, protection from the cold is something that I definitely need if I don't want to risk catching a cold or numbing my body. I am very glad to say that this top did the trick! So if you are tired of an over-crowded gym during the winter months and want to get some fresh air to do a bit of running or jogging, the cold ain't an excuse anymore. What's really good about this is that despite it being a garment that keeps you warm, it's not thick and heavy. In fact, it's really light and comfortable.

It also has a small pocket at the back for 'small items' but honestly, I don't put anything in there. Also, although I didn't show it very well, there are thumb holes at the sleeves just so it is more secure and doesn't move around when you're running which trust me, can be annoying. As you can see, I'm quite petite which meant that the sleeves are often too long. So the thumb holes is actually really good in improving insulating and making it more secure. Oh and, it has reflective elements which makes it safer to run when it gets dark (which it does really early nowadays....)

So overall, I really recommend Nike's running range because you really get what you pay for! Not only are Nike's range of sportswear fashionable, they are function-able and of high quality as well. And to all those that constantly talk yourself out of exercising...You know the thrill you get from wanting to wear all your new clothes? Well this is a good chance to do some retail therapy and then show off your new workout clothes whilst keeping fit at the same time (double win!) Now that Christmas is just around the corner, what are you waiting for? There's no better time than to pick up some sports gear and whip yourself into shape - no excuses now! Also, if you want to check out more ranges or sportswear from different brands, SportsShoes.com has something for everyone!

Superdrug Haul

I was in need of a few 'essentials' but was too lazy to go into town so...I ended up placing an order online with Superdrug! I actually prefer Superdrug to Boots because not only does Superdrug stock MUA and Makeup Revolution products, but I find that the prices are mostly comparatively cheaper. Also, Superdrug offers free shipping over £10 which is really not hard to do at all. Since Superdrug has a 3 for 2 mix & match offer across all cosmetics as well as a 'better than 1/2 price' deal on some items, I thought it'd be rude not to pick up some items that I wanted to try out whilst I'm on the site...well that's the excuse I'm going with :P

So these items are my 'essentials' i.e things that are my 'to get' list for a while now... I'm going to get a hair curler so naturally I needed hair spray. I've used both the Garnier makeup remover and the Superdrug nail remover a few times now and I can say that both get a thumbs up for me! Of course, more in depth review will be coming.

Now these items are more of 'wants' rather than 'needs' :P I got myself the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer because I've heard such great reviews about them. Then, to take advantage of the 3 for 2 offer, I thought I'd try some MUA and Makeup Revolution lip products as I wanted to get something that can be a good everyday lippie for university to make me look more awake than I really am.

I love...Body Butter in 'Mango & Papaya' and 'Raspberry & Blackberry'   £1.48 each

Now that the harsh colder weather is approaching, I thought I better keep my skin hydrated and moisturized...especially since I've got pretty dry skin. However, I didn't want to splurge on the Body Shop Body Butters so I thought I'd give these cheaper alternatives a go. After all, they were under £3 for both.

MUA Nail Polish in Deepest Purple, Ocean Blue, Truffle Cream & Midnight £1 each
Makeup Revolution Nail Polish in Cool Days, Gravity Pulls You Thru & Heaven's Above £1 each

Now comes my guilty pleasure - nail polish. I just feel like collecting one of every single colour on earth and I have this weird satisfaction of seeing the array of colours on my desk. Thank goodness for MUA and Makeup Revolution's £1 nail polish as well as Superdrug's 3 for 2 deal! Anyway, I picked out a mixture of darker A/W shades as well as some more lighter ones. I'm currently wearing Makeup Revolution's 'Heaven's Above' and I am absolutely loving the colour. Can't say the same about the formula, but I shall talk about that in my review!

Considering I spent a total of £24.48 for all of these items, I'd say that it' s not bad at all! Of course, I will review all of these so don't forget to watch this space!

Have you tried any of these products before? Do you prefer Boots or Superdrug?

5 senses of October

I know I know, my posting schedule has been terrible non-existent lately...but I promise that I am trying so hard to improve on that! Anyway, I thought I'd introduce a new segment onto the blog called '5 senses' which is basically a fancy & catchy way of saying 'My Favourites of the Month to hear, smell, see, taste and touch'.

Hear: The thudding sound of my black lace boots

I absolutely adore these pair of boots. The best part? I got them for only £6 on Depop!!! Granted they were secondhand, but they still looked relatively new and are absolutely gorgeous and comfy. I can wear them to walk around campus and to my lectures all day, as well as on nights out. Not quite sure what brand these are because it didn't say...but I found one that is eerily similar on eBay

Smell: The sweet warm vanilla sugar scent of my Bath & Body Works hand sanitizer

So including hand sanitizer is a little weird, but if you know Bath and Body Works hand sanitizers, then you will know that they come in a massive range of scents and since vanilla is my favourite scent of all time, this is a perfect combination. Sometimes, I use it just because I want my hands to smell delicious. You can get them on the Bath & Body Works website in the USA, or if you live in the UK, this seller sells quite a few scents.

See: The gorgeous deep red Makeup Revolution nail polish in shade 'Heaven's Above'

I recently picked up this beautiful nail polish in the shade 'Heaven's Above' at Superdrug and I'm in love with the colour. It's a deep red with hints of purple that makes it the perfect autumn/winter shade. I'm going to do a review of it (along with the other shades I bought) really soon, but until then, you can see a tiny peek of the colour on my nails in those pictures. Also, they're only £1 each and Superdrug has a 3 for 2 offer going on now!!!!

Touch: My smooth moisturized lips after using the Vaseline lip therapy in Cocoa Butter

I was considering putting this in the 'smell' category because this smells so amazing and yummy. To be honest, I wouldn't have picked this up if it wasn't for the smell...but that's beside the point :P I find this little tub of goodness a great lip balm as it makes my lips hydrated, smooth and moisturized - something we need in the colder months. I'll provide a more in depth review of this soon, but for now, you can get this at Poundland for well, a pound (like I did) or if you don't have one near you, SuperdrugBootsTesco and Wilko stock this too!

Taste: The delicious chocolatey-orange taste of Jaffa Cakes

Oh Jaffa Cakes, where have you been all my life?! So after 5 weeks in the UK, it's not until recently that I've discovered this amazing slice of heaven named Jaffa Cakes. Normally, I dislike anything orange flavoured, but this...I can eat it all day... I often stock up on the Tesco Value ones because #poorunistudent, and they're becoming increasingly bad for me because I keep the box in my room and I just snack on them all the time... But can you blame me?

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this new segment of my blog! Do let me know what you think in the comments below (:

P.S: I'm clearing my overflowing wardrobe so do check out my Depop and eBay for bargains!
