Pantone Colour of the Year (2014):
RADIANT ORCHID

Radiant Orchid blooms with confidence and magical warmth that intrigues the eye and sparks the imagination. It is an expressive, creative and embracing purple—one that draws you in with its beguiling charm. A captivating harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid emanates great joy, love and health

My first outfit post for the year! Sorry it took so long - I had a bunch of other outfits sitting in my drafts, but I really wanted this to be the first so I waited until I had time to drag my sister out to take a few pictures :D

A look inspired by Pantone's colour of the year. Purple is one of my favourite colours. It's royalty, elegance and girly-ness rolled into one. I think any skintone can pull off this one! Yet, I have very little purple in my wardrobe - this dress is one of my only ones! I bought it about 2 years ago and only probably wore it twice...oops :/ Could never find the right occasion to wear it! I remembered getting it because I might be going to a garden/tea party - what was I thinking?! Nevertheless, I should really let it see daylight more often.

With purple dress, purple (well, more like magenta) nails and purple eyeshadow (which you can't really see!) I decided to wear my new ASOS strap heels which is now reduced in the sale for only £11.50! Considering I got it for about £15, that is an absolute bargain. It's a tad taller than what I'm used to,
but I don't have a nude/neutral pair of heels, I'm small so... oh well, I just need practice!

By the way, this set of 8 vintage-y rings with different words inscribed on them is my new favourite purchase! And
they're super cheap too! I love wearing them all at once and stacking them up even though my sisters think I'm
crazy :P For a no-fuss and quick solution when my hair decides it's in a bad mood, all I do is just clip my front
hair to back with a claw clip and...voila. Problem solved.
Also,I am aware that the flower I'm holding is not an orchid, but since I couldn't find one, a hibiscus would
 have to suffice :P

Lastly, I have mocks beginning Monday, which I'm dreading! Help?
On a brighter note, I reached 1000 Bloglovin' followers about 2 days ago! Yayyyy! Thank you guys so much
for sticking around and support this little space :') Currently planning a giveaway after all the school shiz
is out of the way (: THANK YOU!
(This post turned out to be longer than I expected...)

What do you guys think of Pantone's Colour of the Year?

OOTD // Arania Exumai

It's kinda bugging me that the floors are uneven in this collage D:

top: kitschen
aztec leggings: american apparel
black wedges: new look
special guest: mini pumpkin

*ARANIA EXUMAI*

the incantation of a spell used to blast back acromantulas or other large spiders. If the spell is used on anything but a spider it will produce a large black scorch mark, and thus it is not recommended for use on humans

From the Latin araneus, meaning “spider”, and exuo, meaning “I lay aside”.

Didn't really do much for Halloween this year...although the numerous Halloween inspired posts made me so jealous! Since it fell on a Thursday this year, I was a saddo and stayed at home to do homework... oh, the woes of being a student! I didn't even get to dress up or get free candy! I definitely plan to get more involved in Halloween next year though. I think I'll go dress as a doll...an outfit I've seen quite a few people wearing this year and it looks so simple to re-create too!

Anyway, looking through my closet, this is the best Halloween inspired outfit I could come up with - monochromatic, subtle and wearable. Even my little pumpkin made an appearance! I bought that top purely because it looked too darn adorable to be left behind! How cute is it?!

To still carry on with my Harry Potter spell naming theme, I wanted to find a spell that is somewhat related to Halloween. What better spell than the one to repel spiders! I know a few friends that are arachnophobia and although I'm not super scared of them, there's no way they're touching me! So...that spell would come in handy ;) Heheh

On a sidenote, can you believe it's November already?! Christmas is just a little over a month away! Yayy!

Hope you had a great Halloween!

----------
Whilst trawling through the Internet, I came across an article where Disney princess inspired designer dresses - designed by high-end designers like Valentino, Versace and Marchesa - will be up for auction to raise money for charity! Being a fashion and Disney lover, I thought I'd share it (:
Can you guess which dress is inspired by which Princess?
*Note: All images come from HERE but I combined and added the text*

Ariel by Marchesa

Personally, I find the real copy of the dress a bit plain...I thought with Ariel, they could do much more! I can definitely see where the inspiration came from from the sketch though.

Aurora by Elie Saab

I love my pinks so this is my absolute FAVOURITE. I love the pale pink colour and the intricate embroidery/roses on the gown! I would definitely wear this

Belle by Valentino

Definitely very Belle-esque as it's similar - if not the same as - to the iconic yellow gown that she wears to dance with the Beast! Love this one (:

Cinderella by Versace

I can definitely see where the inspiration came from in this one. Not my favourite, but it's still nice (:

Jasmine by Escada

At first glance, I wouldn't have thought it was a Jasmine-inspired one. Looked more like Little Red Riding Hood to me! Maybe they should've used her signature pale turquoise colour and add a bit more Arabian-esque in there!

Mulan by Missoni

If I had to choose an inspired one, this would be it. Maybe because Mulan is my favourite Princess out of the lot cause I think she's more strong-willed and independent! And because I've got Chinese heritage as well ;) Heheh. I love the blend of colours, the oriental designs and the fabric used.

Pocahontas by Roberto Cavalli

I like the inspiration behind it and it does suit Pocahontas' character, but I liked the sketches more than the actual dress.

Rapunzel by Jenny Packham

Inspired by the Rapunzel in Tangled, this dress is stunning! I love the lilac colour and the sequinned neckline!

Snow White by Oscar de la Renta

This practically screams Snow White - from the red cape to the blue and yellow dress! The dress itself maybe, but not sure if anyone would wear the cape out in public. Nevertheless, a gorgeous piece.

Tiana by Ralph & Russo

I think this and Aurora's gown is a tied first for me! The style, colour and design is just perfect. Just imagine wearing this to prom!
Aren't those gorgeous?! Will definitely make any girl feel like a princess for sure! My favourite wearable one would be Tiana's and Aurora's, but my favourite inspired one is Mulan.*sigh* if only I had the cash to buy these! At least they're for a good cause (;
What do you think of the dresses? Which one is your favourite?

*cue Miley Cyrus' 'Nobody's Perfect' song* Everyone has their flaws and the first step is to acknowledging them.
P.S: Please do vote for me for a Missguided competition HERE - it will only take a few seconds and I'll be eternally grateful!
