Blogger Style Inspiration #2

Another style inspiration featuring some of the best people in the blogosphere! I didn't really have a particular 'season' in mind, despite it being the transition from winter to spring here in the UK. Really, it's whatever caught my mind. Although, there are a few layering styles in there!

The Oscars 2015 - My Top 8 Best Dressed

The Oscars 2015 took place this weekend and although amidst the London Fashion Week frenzy, I will admit that I keep up with the Oscars more. While I'm not the most up to date with movie watching, I do love some red carpet fashion action. Although I will say that I'm really glad Eddie Redmayne definitely deserved Best Actor because he was incredible in The Theory of Everything. That being said, I also thought that that movie would've won more awards!
With luxurious pearly white gowns, neutral tones, statement necklaces and thigh high slits making a frequent occurrence this time round, I thought I would include my Top 8 Best Dressed - which were incredibly hard to narrow down to by the way...

The Ultimate Guide to eBay Shopping (Auctions)

I'm a massive fan of buying things on eBay and have built up quite a collection of my 'eBay bargains'. The two smock dresses from ASOS above were £7 each...that Motel skirt was a mere £2.50! Of course that's just a fraction of what I've bought from eBay! If you look hard enough, you can really find some amazing bargains that can give sales a run for their money - even for brands like Motel Rocks, Topshop, Missguided or Zara. Many assume that eBay equates to second-hand pre-worn items but that is definitely not the case! Some items listed are either brand new, or brand new without tags. Of course, with buying things online, it comes with a few risks. Since I've been buying things on eBay for quite a few years now, I thought I would share my top tips to make your eBay shopping an amazing experience...

Blogger Style Inspiration #1

I'm thinking about starting this new feature on my blog that will occur every 2 weeks because sometimes, I come across an outfit on my blogroll that I just have to share. I get my 'style inspiration' from various places, Pinterest, magazines, Instagram...but most of all, from the lovely #fbloggers I follow! I'm currently finding it so hard to narrow it down to just 5 but...here are my recent favourites...

Belated Primark Haul

During these past few months, I have been to numerous Primark stores all over the country... I kid you not...I've been to the one in Coventry, London, Middlesbrough, Edinburgh...but I didn't spend that much though. I'm the kind that is perfectly content with just perusing the rails and 'window shopping' However, I did get a couple of 'essentials' and things in the Primark sale. Yes, the only thing that is better than Primark itself - Primark sales.

Surviving Winter: Essentials

"Oh, the weather outside is frightful and the fire radiator is so delightful..."
Yes, I am aware that it's been well over a month since Christmas...but with this weather, I do find myself singing them festive songs. A couple of days ago, I shared the only 3 coats I needed for surviving winter (I know, can't believe I narrowed it down so much) and now, because I have the lowest tolerance of the cold, here are some things that I absolutely can't live without when the temperatures drops to the minuses or I will freeze my butt off...

Surviving Winter: Only 3 coats I need

When I first arrived to the UK, I made two mistakes:

a) Buying wayyy too many coats simply because each one was slightly different to the other. But in my defense, it was my first time getting the chance to buy any sort of outerwear so I naturally employed the 'gotta catch 'em all' attitude...

Esty Lingerie: Accessorizing Under-garments

Gone are the days when lingerie are only meant to be worn and not seen. Starting from peeks of lacy bralets under low drop arm hole tops, the whole 'undergarments as outerwear' trend is gradually taking the world by storm...

Boohoo Sales Haul

Boohoo for me can be either a hit or a miss. Sometimes you can find such gorgeous items at bargain prices but sometimes, I feel that the quality can be compromised. Nevertheless, here are some of the things that I ordered and have kept! All these were bought during the Christmas sale period, although you can still get almost all of these items and Boohoo still has a massive sale section with up to 75% off and 20% student discount for a limited time! You will never know what you can find. Also, they do free returns which is just awesome.

A rather big ASOS haul

Okay, despite vowing that I shall spend no mor£££ on clothes, I have a few excuses reasons to justify this rather big haul!

a) I didn't buy all of this in one go...stuff here is all the way from November-ish
b) There was a sale going on...and we both know how I simply can't resist them. Oh and, they had a 10% off sale last week which meant more damage...oops
c) I'm just wishing for summer & warmer weather - you'll see the pattern

Boxing Day Haul - New Look & Forever 21

This was meant to be posted 2 days ago, but I was rushing to finish a Philosophy essay because I'm an amazing procrastinator and haven't yet lost my touch. As usual, I could not resist the temptation of a good Boxing Day sale and hence, did just a little bit of damage at New Look :P In fact, the sale is still going on and I think you can still get some of these pieces! Also, I ordered some pieces from Forever 21 a long while ago so I thought I would show that too because I love a good haul, and I hope you do too!

2014: Personal Style Roundup

Radiant Orchid // Clarity // Wingardium Leviosa // Roses are Red

It seems not so long ago when I was putting together my outfit posts of 2013...I would say that style-wise, my taste has kinda changed drastically since 2013 (some are so cringe-worthy), but throughout this year, it has remained relatively similar although I ventured out of my little zone a bit and tried some new and different pairings/trends.

This year, I have only posted 22 outfit posts which seriously isn't a lot (although I do have a backlog of outfit posts to be posted...just got to get round doing that). I guess with major exams, trips and most of all, trying to work out how and where to take outfit pictures in my tiny room at Uni (I am bound to get questions if I start taking them outdoors)...it's gotten kind of hard and I am still trying to figure that out to be honest. Anyway, here are all of my looks and links to them for any outfit details you may want to know!

Transition to Fall with Julep

When Abbey from Julep contacted me to do a post about transition your nail polish from those bright summer shades to beautiful ones, I was on board. Fall nail colours actually excite me because I'm more into the darker, classier and more mysterious shades that complements this time of year. The handy infographic below showcases some of the top summer shades and its fall equivalent - so if you spy your favourites, you know which to try next.

For my mood board, I've decided to choose the shade 'Beverly' which is a described as a boysenberry creme - sounds super yum.

To make the glamorous deep purple shade stand out, I've decided to go with my favourite A/W print - tartan, and chose two different colour variations to mix it up a little. I paired this dark green based tartan smock dress with a red based tartan scarf and a neutral trench coat that can keep you all warm and snuggly as temperatures drop. Of course, what fall look is complete without a classic pair of chunky black boots! This mixture of dark and neutral shades will compliment the vampy purple without looking too gloomy - after all, that's what the weather's for!

What's your favourite fall shade this season?
Need more shades? Julep has got you covered.

P.S: Don't forget to check out my eBay and Depop  for clothes and more at great bargain prices!!
