Inspiration // Re-vampin' your Bedroom

Considering you spend most of your time in your bedroom, there's no doubt that it should be your space and reflect your personality! Being an university student living in university accommodation, you definitely do not want to go back to a bog standard plain uni room at the end of a long day! Somehow, with a bit of personalization and bits and pieces here and there, you can really make your small (well, my uni room is anyway) space really cosy and homely...

Autumn/Fall Style Inspiration

As we get near the end of September, the weather gets cooler and cardigans, beanies, scarves and tights come out to play during the colder, darker months. Living in a tropical country with only 2 seasons (wet & dry), I've always been slightly jealous of those bloggers in the northern hemisphere that are able to snuggle up in cosy sweaters and partake in the art of fashion we call 'layering'. But since this year is the first year that I'll be in the UK for autumn and winter, I must say that I am beyond excited to be able to jump on that bandwagon - I've already started preparing by buying tons of sweaters in my latest August Haul.

When it comes to fashion/style inspiration, Pinterest  is my absolute favourite. So for those of you that are unsure of how to/what is layering or how to wear that new coat/boots of yours...this will be extremely handy ;)

1. Leather is literally the material for fall if you want that edgy yet chic look
2. Scarf, beanie and trench coat? Check.
3. Pair one of those chunky, oversized 'sweater dresses' with knee high boots for the laidback and casual look whilst running errands
4. Think maxi skirts are reserved for the summer? Think again.

4. When transitioning from summer to fall, layer a sweater over your favourite dress and...voila. Instant sophistication.
5. Don't store your shorts away during these colder months - instead, wear them with cosy tights and you're good to go
6. The layering trick that makes anyone look good with a preppy flair - layer your favourite sweater over your favourite plaid shirt. Never underestimate the power of plaid prints.
7. Take layering to a whole new level by wearing a cardigan over your dress and belting it together!

Hope this post has been useful in helping you gain some inspiration on what to wear as the leaves changes colour and temperatures drop!

Outfit // Earth Hour 2014

ALSO ON CHICTOPIA

crop top: missguided // leather skirt: thrifted (similar + similar) // belt: brands outlet (similar)// sunglasses: missguided* // wedges: new look (similar + similar)

This is an all-black look spreading awareness for and inspired by Earth Hour 2014.
Basically, on Saturday 29th March (today), at 8:30-9:30pm (local time i.e wherever you are) do your part to conserve energy, turn off your lights and light a candle for an hour! Can you do it?

Also, it's finally spring/Easter break and although I'm super duper happy that school is out for 2 weeks...my never ending of pile of revision that I have to get through is seriously deteriorating any motivation and willpower I have to work D:

Oh and, if you don't have a (faux) leather skirt or a black crop top...you need to get one. I've been wearing mine to death.

Inspiration: 4 Spring-Themed Styles

Probably my favourite look out of the 4! There's no need to leave A/W colours behind and I'm loving this burgundy playsuit. Pair it with comfy wedges, circle sunglasses with a bucket bag and it gives a bohemian vibe whilst remaining a perfect ensemble to stroll around the streets when it's warm. Of course, if you want something more artsy or formal, throw on a floral blazer to make it looker smarter but still chic.

Pastels are all the rage, but you can also get the 3/4 sleeved lace dress in white, black or baby blue if you desire! Of course, I went for the pink one - but to keep it from being too overloaded with 'girly' or 'sweet', I paired it with a pair of fresh white oxfords but if the event has more glamour or you just want to dress up, add a layered gold necklace. Going to the beach or sightseeing and need a place to keep your belongings whilst having your hands free, a gorgeous white leather backpack will do the trick. Since this dress is so simple, you can go even wilder with accessories or simply wear it as a beach cover-up.

I just love the light floral print on this dress because it's not too hectic and the colour combination is golden. How can you resist the tiny meshed waistband and the collars! Again, I teamed it with a baby blue bag and studded ankle strap flats to still maintain a bit of edge. Now that the days are getting longer and sunnier, these gradient heart sunglasses are the most amazing thing ever. Perfect for brunch or a stroll in the park!

I love this daisy dress because it's so simple, but still makes a statement. This time, I channeled my inner 'grunge' but still made it me. A heeled pair of platform boots will add height and be comfortable (win-win situation) whilst floral studded sunglasses makes your eyewear a tad more interesting. I'd wear this when hanging out with friends, shopping or even just walking around town because I have a trusty backpack that's big enough to put in everything I might buy... ;)

Which one is your favourite/most likely to wear?
