Harry Potter Tag

So I saw this tag on Amy @ A Little Boat Sailing blog and since I'm the biggest fan ever ever ever, I thought it would be right if I did this tag! Hope you guys enjoy it and if you do do the tag, leave your links below - I would love to know other Potterhead's answers :D

1. What is your favourite book?

To be honest, I loved all 7 books (hahah). But if I had to pick, I would have to say the 6th one - Half-Blood Prince - because that book was full of new and interesting information that I thought made the plot more complex and more fascinating. Of course, knowing Snape's background and Voldemort's past was equally as thrilling.

2. What is your favourite film?

I didn't think they did such a good job on the latest films - the acting was great, but the plot and effects...not so :/ It would have to be a tie between the 2nd (Chamber of Secrets) and the 4th (Goblet of Fire) because I thought the scenes were captured relatively well in those.

3. What is your least favourite book?

This could be so cliched and all but...none. I know a few of my friends didn't like the 5th because it was so 'meaty' and boring to them but...I still love it. All books played an equal role in the plot.

4. What is your least favourite film?

The 6th one. It. Was. Horrible. Okay, maybe that was an exaggeration, but I was still so disappointed especially since it was one of my more favourite ones!

5. Which parts of the books/films made you cry?

Although I do get quite emotional in movies, I didn't really cry in Harry Potter, simply because I knew what was going to happen, having read the books :P I don't really cry when reading, but the part when Fred Weasley died made me stop reading for a while...

6. If you could hook up with any character who would it be?

Hmmm...Sirius Black is such a good-looking badass. Probably him...

7. Who is your favourite character?

You honestly can't ask me that question because I love them all so so so much. They're all special. Of course, there is the 'magical trio' and although I like all 3, I would have to go for Hermione as my favourite. Simply because she is incredibly hardworking, driven, determined (e.g in the 6th book when she refused to accept help from Harry's potion book AKA The Half Blood Prince and is determined to succeed the 'right' way), yet loyal and will protect those that she loves. Although she is smart and a stickler for rules, she isn't like Percy Weasley who disregards his family in search for ambition (yes, I am aware he reconciles with his family later on). Instead, she was willing to risk getting expelled, challenged Umbridge, puts herself in the most dangerous situations and has constantly been there for both Harry and Ron.

Apart from Hermione, I really like the Weasley twins because they like Hermione, are determined and driven - although in a slightly different way. An example being their own joke shop that most people around them were skeptical about, especially since they didn't do too well in their exams. Yet, they proved everyone wrong. Also, not only did they provide me with loads of laughs, but the bond between the twins is just incredible.

8. Who is your least favourite character?

Professor Umbridge. Hands down. So annoying and I thought the actress that portrayed her in the movies did it really well because I did want to throttle her...

9. What is your least favourite line?

I truly thought that all lines were carefully thought of, but somehow I am not too keen on the very last line, 'All is well.' because it just seems so empty to signify the end of an incredibly journey/series. Personal opinion though.

10. What would your Patronus be?

A dolphin? I love the water and how intelligent, carefree and caring dolphins can be.

11. If you could have the invisibility cloak, resurrection stone or elder wand, which would you choose?

Invisibility Cloak. I just think that I would get more use out of it then I would with the other 2.

12. What house would you be in?

Well I took the Pottermore test and I am proud to say that I am a Gryffindor. Personally, I like to think Ravenclaw or Gryffindor. Don't think I evil enough for Slytherin :P

13. If you could meet any member of the cast who would it be?

Emma Watson, without a doubt. Please please please.

14. If you were on the Quidditch team, what position would you play?

Probably a Chaser because I think that could be quite fun...although I wouldn't mind trying to be a Seeker - since I'm quite small so I fly through all the tight spaces to catch the Snitch if needed.

15. Were you happy with the ending?

With the books, yes I am. Although I really disliked Harry's children's names because there was no originality in it. I understand the whole tribute paying part, but it was basically the names of people he knew bunched together...and a little cheesy. I mean, did Ginny even get a say in any of that? Also, although I liked the ending, I am really sad it ended because I want more! I want to know all the little personal details of each character and their futures.

16. How much does Harry Potter mean to you?

Too much. It's been a big part of my childhood, and I still do a little happy dance/squeal whenever I receive/see/watch something Harry Potter related. I once had a 'Harry Potter character naming' competition with my sister as well as a number of Skype duels...(massive Potterhead here). Since the books and movies ended, apart from re-reading/watching them over and over again...I've been fuelling my obsession with 'behind the scenes'  footage from the show, as well as cast interviews. Seriously, they are amazing and truly worth the watch - I never get bored. I am also currently obsessed with Harry Potter posters/prints - which I plan to print out in high quality paper and stick them on my uni room. Only problem, I have hundreds (I kid you not) so it will take some time to narrow it down :P

Do you have any pets?

Unfortunately I don't! Although I did keep goldfish about 5/6 years ago if that counts.

The Reading Habit Tag

Firstly, so sorry for the lack of posts (again). The whole posting schedule thing isn't really working out :/ The irony of summer is that you have no school, essentially nothing to do...yet you can't get a couple of posts up :P This week has been quite busy because a few of my old friends from abroad have come back to visit so I've been hanging out and catching up with them!  Also, on a super duper happy note that I haven't mentioned on the blog is that...I AM GOING TO UNIVERSITY! I'm so happy that it deserves a blog post on its own so look out for that :D

Anyway, I saw this tag on Hayley @ Water Painted Dreams and decided that it'd be a fun thing to do, especially since I really do love reading.

1. Do you have a certain place for reading at home?

My bed. It's the cosiest place in my whole house.

2. Bookmark or random piece of paper?

Umm...I'm guilty of folding down the page corners :/

3. Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter or a certain number of pages?

If it's a really good book then I'll tell myself I'll stop after I finish the current chapter...but I rarely listen to myself.

4. Do you eat or drink when reading?
I'll admit I do that sometimes - when the book is too interesting to put down :P

5. Do you watch TV or listen to music whilst reading?

Nope. When I read, it just has to be me and the story world.

6. One book at a time or several at once?

I like reading one book at a time because I dislike having the different plots jumbled together and I hate having to read a few pages back to refresh my memory.

7. Reading at home or everywhere?

Everywhere and anywhere. Reading keeps me entertained.

8. Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Silently for sure - I'll probably lose my voice if I try to read a novel out loud. Also, people might think I'm weird.

9. Do you ever read ahead or skip pages?

Not really...although I do skim read through the boring bits.

10. Breaking the spine or keeping it new?

My books never end up looking new and the spine always ends up breaking :/ I will admit that I'm not one for taking extreme good care of my books...although whenever I borrow someone else's, I do try my best!

11. Do you write in your books?

Not even a bit.

12. What are you currently reading?
I'm actually not reading any new books at the moment because I can't seem to get my hands on any good ones. I do want to read the Game of Thrones series and see how it compares to the TV series, but I still want the element of surprise and don't want it to ruin the show for me so...maybe not just yet.

Not tagging anyone specifically so if you did the tag, be sure to comment and leave the link below!

The Christmas Tag 2013

I saw this tag on Fee @ MakeupSavvy and decided to do it because hey, it's December so I'm in a festive Christmassy mood AND December just so happens to be my absolute favourite month! :D

1.  Do you prefer a real Christmas tree or synthetic?
Well, living in a country with a tropical climate, you don't exactly get real Christmas trees. My dad, my sisters and myself would always put the synthetic one we have in our store room which is just as festive and magical! However, I would love to go through the whole 'choosing the Christmas tree' process (:

2.  You're in a coffee shop, it's December, what do you pick?
Caramel Frappucino hands down. I've craving one just thinking about it...

3.  Whats your favourite colour scheme for decorating the tree?
Hmmm...I don't think I have an exact colour scheme to be honest...I think gold is a super festive colour so definitely gold tinsel, gold star at the top maybe a few gold baubles? But honestly, we just put on all the different coloured baubles and fairy lights we can find :P Still turns out pretty damn awesome - if I say so myself ;)

4.  Giving or receiving?
Of course, I love opening presents cause I'm a sucker for surprises, but equally, I also love giving presents. I like choosing the gift for the particular person and then seeing their face when they open it. Hopefully it's a positive facial expression! Sometimes, I find it hard to keep it a secret as to what I'm giving them. So, up until Christmas Day, I would go up to my sister and go, "I got you something awesome. Guess what I got you!" Takes a lot of willpower not to just blurt it out to them :P

5.  To mince pie or not to?
Never actually tried any, although I would love to (:

6.  What's your traditional Sunday lunch?
Typical Christmas lunch? Hmmm...for me, it's often Christmas dinner...which is usually with either friends of relatives so, there's always turkey and sparkling juice (for the kids), a type of cake and really, everyone just brings a dish and we all share (:

7.  Christmas day fashion
Christmas day is often spent in comfy clothes :P But if there's a party or anything, something simple incorporated with shades of gold or sparkles/sequins because that just reminds me of Christmas!

8.  What's your favourite Christmas song?
Oh my god, loads. I love Christmas carols - it just puts me in the mood and I ONLY listen to them during Christmas. I love "Joy to the World", "Christmas is coming", 'Hark the Herald", "Frosty the Snowman", "It came upon a midnight clear"....okay, I'm going to stop or I will actually list them all down. I love Christmas carols. I actually also like Justin Bieber and Michael Buble's Christmas albums (:

9.  What's your favourite Christmas film?
Definitely Home Alone. It's hilarious, never gets old and I watch it every year (:

10.  Open presents before or after lunch?
Before! Who has the patience to wait for after lunch?!

If you do decide to do this tag, please leave the link at the bottom so I can be nosy and read your answers! Happy December!

The Autumn Tag

I got tagged by the lovely Carly Jade from Cee Jay Ell (thank you!) so I thought I'd do it to finish off September (: Where I'm living at the moment, I don't actually have autumn as a season, but I can imagine right?

Favourite thing about Autumn?

Definitely the warm cosy sweaters and ankle boots! I'm so bummed that I can't go sweater shopping or boot hunting (at least not for a few more months) because I'd have minimal chances to wear them if I did! Ohhh, and the pretty colour-changing leaves!

Favourite Drink?

Hmmm... I can never pass up a good Caramel Frappucino!

Favourite Scent/Candle?

I've never actually bought one/tried one although I really really want to! I'm curious as to how they'll smell like! If I could, I'd probably buy all the scents and burn them in turn :P
My favourite scent of all time is vanilla - I have a small bottle of vanilla essence in the fridge and I sometimes open it up to smell it (yes, I'm weird)

Best Lipstick?

To be fair, I don't own many, but I do love my Maybelline Moisturizing Color Sensational lipstick in Cosy Tangerine because it's such a wearable, day time colour.

Go-to Moisturiser?

Yea...I SHOULD moisturize...since my skin is so dry as I'm often in the pool...but I'm lazy and always forget! So I grab the first one I see in my parents' room :P

Go-to Colour for the Eyes?

My foolproof combination is brown neutral eyes with cobalt blue eyeliner!

Favourite Music to Listen to?

In all honesty, I listen to everything and anything...apart from metal and rap.

Favourite Outfit to Wear?

Since this is an autumn tag, I'm going to have to imagine for this one. If the season did exist, I would probably wear a simple dress paired with wooly tights, ankle boots, a trench coat and a scarf. Ohhh, and a beanie as well (:

Autumn Treat?

Do I get one even if I don't have autumn? I'd really like a deep plum lipstick though. I think that would be pretty cool

Favourite Place to Be?

Really do wish the boyfriend was back from England cause then I'd be hanging out with him, but otherwise my favourite place is my bedroom, on my bed, snuggled under the blankets with my MASSIVE (i'm not kidding) teddy bear next to me (:

I tag:
EVERYONE
