Through My Lens #1

As part of trying new things this year, I've decided to do a 'Through My Lens' post either weekly or fortnightly. Of course, I always post these (and much more) on my Facebook page and Twitter so do follow those to keep up with me!

one. the gorgeous evening view from the new apartment

two. new minion earrings that I bought from the lower sixth forms for their business enterprise challenge - how cute are they!

three. my Prairie Charms goodies arrived! You can take a look at how I style them here

four. off to Malaysia to celebrate Lunar New Year!

five. the newest addition to my extended family - the cutest little cousin ever

six. the cake that my sisters handmade from scratch (well sort of...the fondant was store bought :P) The chinese character on the top (福) means "luck" I will update on my new year happenings in a whole blog post soon!

seven. nails of the day (:

eight. debuting my new red dress on the first day of lunar new year! Traditionally, you're meant to wear red because in a Chinese legend, red is the colour that scared off the monster that tormented the village every year. Of course, I don't mind - red's a great colour ;) Didn't have time to take outfit post this trip, but I'll be sure to put them up soon!

nine. bought 6 new nail polishes...in my defence they were such a great price and well, I love the colours. There's only 4 pictured here, but check out my Facebook for the other shades! I'll also be wearing them quite often :P

The Craziest Paradigm's posts this week:

'In my baskets #22' - Things that I've been coveting on eBay and ASOS
'#PrairieXmas' - Review of the goodies I received from Prairie Charms as well as a little hair inspiration!
'Hello February, Goodbye January' - January in review - both bloggy and life-wise

MY NEW POLAROID CAMERA!!!!!!

As you can probably tell from the post title with CAPS and repetitive exclamation marks, I am quite excited about this.

This little gift came as a surprise. A big, awesome surprise. Remember how I wrote about it in THIS post? And how I've always wanted one? Well apparently, the boyfriend does scroll through my blog sometimes and came across that post. So for our 2 years and 5 months, he got me one! Wheeeeee! It was probably the most amazing surprise ever.  (Thanks brah!)

How gorgeous is that?! I think it comes in pink, blue and white... but he knew I liked my pinks ;)
It's more modernized (clearly) than those vintage polaroid cameras but hey, I ain't complaining - this one is awesome.

The flash is super duper bright when you take a photo - mark my words

The little screen on the top right is what you use to look through. There's no screen (like most polaroid cameras) so if you wish to take selfies, aim it at yourself, take a shot and pray it turns out well :P
I guess that's all part of the fun (:

It has different settings for different locations. I think it affects the brightness of the flash so the picture won't turn out too bright or dark (:

The slot where the film comes out

My first few shots - the boyfriend himself and my two sisters

L-R: I think he looks professional there; A little bit too much exposure...; Skyline view of Ho Chi Mi

Somehow, pictures always look better in polaroid form and how awesome did these turn out! It's like an automatic filter :D
When the film first comes out, it's blank. But the picture will slowly appear before your very eyes and that is possibly the best part of the whole thing.
I love this camera sooooo much - if you can't already tell. I think it's going to be my new baby, it's precious & I'm going to have so much fun with it, heheh ;)
To the boyfriend:

Do you have a polaroid camera?

OOTD // Casual in 'Paris'

Top: Bought in a boutique in Bangkok
Denim shorts: Forever 21

It was my youngest sister's birthday yesterday, but she has friends over for a sleepover tonight which meant that we went to an Indian restaurant (yayyy! I love my curries) for dinner! (:
I didn't manage to take a photo of the omnomnomnom food though :/

Anyway, since it was nearby and nothing really fancy, I decided on something super casual (and probably boring). A neon(ish) pink tank top with the writing 'PARIS' on it - not sure if you can tell, but the A is replaced with an Eiffel Tower!. I'm usually not a fan of such tops, but this one was too cute to pass up and because I've always dreamed of Paris (: It was quite long so I knotted it up at the front - or it will seem like I am pants-less :/ The shorts I'm wearing are one of my favourite ones. I love how they're slightly frayed at the ends and distressed which makes it unique (:

Oh && instead of taking selfies in the mirror with my phone, I've managed to persuade (finally) my sister to take pictures for me with a proper camera :P Hopefully this is of better quality and if you excuse my awkward pose and smile (which I'm working on), I hope you guys like this more!

What do you think? (:

{On a bright note, my 'Know your Lippies' post has been featured on Simple Easy Style's Friday's Five Link up! Wheeeee!}
