LookBook // B is for Bohemian Pants (Part 2/2)

In my previous post HERE, I feature my printed 'bohemian' pants and showed you one way in which I styled it - comfy and casual for the airport/traveling. I will rave a little bit about those pants - they are incredibly comfy! The most comfiest and softest and lightest pants on earth!

Here's where to find some that are similar to mine:
1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

Most commonly known as harem pants, many people may have seen them as the type of pants for slouching around or for more casual days. Some people may not even dare wear them out! But this has all changed. Bohemian/Harem pants are slowly being worn by people for all sorts of occasions. The best part? They come in tons of different cuts, patterns, colours... and are super comfortable! A favourite of mine are these colourful tribal printed harem pants from eBay. Want!
They've been seen on the runway:

I went collage crazy and created some LookBook creations to hopefully inspire you to wear this daring trend:

Harem Pants: Forever 21 // Cami top: Dorothy Perkins // Black cardigan: H&M // Sandals: Wolf&Badger // Bag: Roxy

I actually wore this look to the airport (HERE). It's incredibly slouchy but super comfy so it's perfect for slouching around during the weekends or for traveling! Pair it with cute beaded sandals and a bag that is just the right size to carry all your essentials and you're ready to board that plane (:

Harem Pants: Forever 21 // Tank top: Mango // Embellished Blazer: Dorothy Perkins //
Boots: Jeffery Campbell //   Bag: Target // Belt: Dorothy Perkins
Much more polished and daring. Especially with those Jeffery Campbells! The studded white blazer pulls the look together and transforms it very casual to a more polished look. Grab an oversized black bag and match it with a black belt to cinch the waist and you're good to go (:
Harem Pants: Forever 21 // Blouse: H&M //  Belt: Black.co.uk // Pumps: Michael Antonio //

Who says you can't wear harem pants to the office? Simply pair it with a conservative black blouse - a wardrobe essential - a pair of not-so-high heels, a belt to bring the whole look in and an envelope purse for your things. You can opt for a coloured one for a pop of colour amongst the neutrals.

3 Tips on wearing harem pants:

1. Your call: There are different cuts and styles so choose one that flatters you! If you're more on the petite side, choose one with a leaner cut so it won't drown you out!

2. Slim on top: Balance the bagginess of the pants with a more fitted top - whether it be a simple tank top or crop top.

3. Heels: Not only will it add height to your frame, but also slim down the leg with counteract the bagginess

Cropped Bustier/Bralet : Lookbook (Part 2/2)

Previously, I talked about cropped bustier/bralets and tips on how to wear them!Go to Part 1 (HERE)

How I will style it (via Polyvore) - and yes, I went a little crazy creating outfits instead of revising...oops!:

Look 1:

White Ruched Front Bralet Crop Top (New Look) // Hi Lo Chiffon Skirt (Delia's) // Women's Callia Strappy Chestnut Brown Wedge Sandals (Ugg) // Braided Fringe Hobo Bag (Wet Seal) // Beaded Coil Bracelet (Maurices) // Gold Layered Necklace in black & cream (Ettika)

For this look, I went for simplicity in neutrals and just paired a simple white bralet with a flowy coral hi-low top (2 trends in 1! wheeee) I accessorized it with brown/earthy toned items to give it a laid back feel. I think this is perfect for summer or strolling along the beach... and has a bit of bohemian vibe to it (:

Look 2
Pink Applique Detail Crop Top Bralet (Chiara Fashion) // Alberceque distressed denim shorts (Ksubi) // Calypso Gladiator Sandals (GUESS) // Le Sentier Top (Yoox) // Chinle Backpack (Forever 21) // Feather Linear Earring (Wet Seal) // Walker Large Circle Frame Sunglasses (OC Shades) // Parker Cocktail Headband (Eugenia Kim)

With this look, I kept thinking, Coachella, music festivals, music festivals... and ta da! I'll admit I took my inspiration from Vanessa Hudgen's various Coachella outfits which I adore (: A simple pink bralet with frayed denim shorts (preferably high waisted) and perhaps a fringed vest if that's showing TOO much skin. And no music festival is complete with sandals when walking in the grass, feathered earrings, printed bag to store essentials, and a floral headband.

Look 3

Black Spikes Bralet Top ( missrebel) // Gold Shiny Skater Skirt (Chiara Fashion) // Axton Suede Gold Trim Wedges (Michael Kors) // Pink & Gold Deco Bead Embellished Clutch (New Look) // Silver Ridge Bangles (Baublebar) // Chevron Earrings (Style Tryst)
Not only can bralets be used for casual occasions, but they can be dressed up just as nicely. I loved the golden, shiny look of the skirt (only 10 pounds!) so I paired it with a plain black bralet with studs! The rest of the accessories I kept to the gold/black theme (: Perfect for a formal-ish occasion or a lovely night out (:

Look 4

Days of Night Bustier (Sass&Bide) // Royal Blue Lapel Wing Blazer (by Masc) // Highwaist Zip Skinny Trousers (Topshop) // Salome Sandal (eLavin) // Black Tote Bag (Wallis)  // Lipstick: MAC Riri Woo

This outfit could be wearable in a creative working environment or events where you aim to be professional - but don't forget that blazer! And who says navy and black don't go together! A bright red lip to tie the whole look together and you're good to go (:

Look 5

Pink Floral Zip Front Bustier (Topshop) // Moto Polka Dot Denim Skater Skirt (Topshop) // Amara Baby Pink Leather Look Lace Up Perspex Block Heel (boohoo.com) // Morgan Saddle Bag (orYANY) // Hepcat Shades (Madewell) //
Straw Fedora (GUESS)

Since I chose almost all plain bralets for my previous looks, I decided to showcase a printed floral one (: After matching it with a polka dotted circle skirt, I decided I'd go for a country look. Hence the fedora, crossbody bag (which I want!) and nude ankle boots - yea... I like my neutrals. Even though the prints are different, the colours and shades match up pretty well! (:

My favourite look out of the five would be either #1 or #5 because I love my skirts :P Also, I tend to go by the rule: Tight top, loose bottoms OR loose top, tight bottoms (:

How celebrities wear it

The Pants

(L-R): Kirsten Stewart; Jennifer Lopez; Rihanna; Jessie J

I love Kirsten Stewart's unique bralet and how she paired it with flair trousers AND Rihanna's look because it shows just the right amount of skin (:

The Skirts/Dress

(L-R): Selena Gomez; Miley Cyrus; Sophie Monk; Pixie Lott

Probably my favourite look out of the whole bunch would be Selena Gomez's! Love the bralet AND the skirt. Miley Cyrus' is also a winner for me (:

Hey, the one on the very right is just like Kirsten Stewart's! :D

So what do you think? How would you style the cropped bustier/bralet & what's your favourite look? (:

How to Style: Cropped Tribal Print Tank + OOTD (Part 2/2)

As mentioned in my previous post (GO TO PART 1 HERE), I received a FOREVER 21 CROPPED TRIBAL PRINT TANK TOP from my lovely bestie as a birthday present! So I had some fun creating some ideas as to how I will style it (even though I'm meant to be revising, shhhh) (:
Cropped Tribal Print Top: Forever 21 // MOTO Black Skinny Leigh Jeans: Topshop // Autumn Belle Brown Booties // Brown crossbody bag

This is definitely a more polished yet casual look as it incorporates more neutral colours (browns & blacks) whilst keeping it interesting with the pop of hot pink.

Cropped Tribal Tank Top: Forever 21 // Destroyed Denim Midi Shorts: American Eagle Outfitters // Lola Embellished Sandals: UK Accessorize // I'd Rather Be At the Beach Alphabet Bag: Lemon & Mint // Floppy Beach Hat // Brown Beaded Bracelet //

I created this look with the beach and summer in mind! Since this top is flowy, it's perfect for keeping cool during the summer weather with either a bikini top or bandeau underneath. Pair it with sandals, floppy hat and a simple tote bag and you're ready for strolling along the beach promenade (:

Cropped Tribal Print Tank: Forever 21 // Purple Bodycon Skirt // Suede Black Wedges: Reflection // Black oversized bag // Vintage Hinged Owl Necklace: Babi Online // Chain & Purple Feather Earrings: Charlotte Russe

In my opinion, this look is more dressy as the bodycon skirt, black wedges and oversized bag makes it more formal yet fun and young! Perfect for a night out, or a presentation at university or work!

And here's MY take on the third look (:

Top: Forever 21 // Purple bodycon skirt: Kitschen // Owl necklace: Claire's Accessories // Grey oversized cardigan: unbranded // Purple feather earrings: Diva

I added a cardigan to keep things more casual and for added warmth (:

Do you like the looks? How would you style it?
